Safety measures for staff and passengers

For SNCF Voyages Italia, the protection of passengers and onboard staff is an absolute priority. Therefore, in accordance with the requirements of the French and Italian authorities – in addition to continuing the “alternating” seat reservation system – the company confirms the adoption of the prevention measures implemented in recent weeks, aimed at ensuring that everyone can travel in maximum safety. In particular:

  • Mandatory use of face masks

Passengers without a mask will not be allowed onboard.

  • Hand sanitation

Onboard, water and soap are available in the restrooms, with availability checked regularly. Hand sanitizer is freely available on the Italian section of the route. In case of temporary lack of water and soap during the French part, sanitizer gel will be provided to ensure hand cleanliness.

  • Train cleaning

Sanitization and cleaning activities have been intensified, with increased frequency and adapted types of disinfection.

  • Social distancing

To reduce contact opportunities, onboard catering services are suspended (bar, catering, and seat catering service).

MEASURES FOR ENTRY INTO FRANCE AND ITALY

SNCF Voyages Italia reminds that to enter France, until June 15, you must have a specific self-declaration and a self-certification attesting the absence of Covid-19 symptoms in the last 48 hours. Both documents are available on the website of the French Ministry of the Interior.

SNCF Voyages Italia also highlights that from June 3, entry and free movement in Italy are allowed without any limitation on the length of stay and without the obligation to present a self-declaration or undergo self-isolation.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

For trips scheduled until August 31, you can make a change or request a refund free of charge. Specifically, for trips planned until August 31, you can cancel or change your ticket for free via online channels before the train’s departure time, or after the train’s departure date via the dedicated SNCF.com page. In case of changes, if the cost of the new ticket is higher, the price difference will be borne by the customer.
