“The change at the top of Tourism Ireland is marked by continuity tied to results, the fruit of strong teamwork: Niamh Kinsella has in fact, in the past few days, handed over the baton to Ornella Gamacchio, who has been collaborating with the organization for nine years, first as a press consultant and, since 2019, as a member of the team for public relations and press office activities,” reads the press release distributed to the media. “Ornella Gamacchio will lead the Milan office as the new director, drawing on her in-depth knowledge of the entire Irish market and established experience at various foreign tourism bodies, having worked for years as Marketing Manager for Visit Britain and for the Seychelles Tourist Office.
Niamh Kinsella, on the strength of the excellent work carried out in Italy, will, for the coming period, lead the recovery plan for Irish tourism from Germany, one of the most important markets for the whole island. Under Kinsella’s leadership, Italian visitor flows to Ireland saw a real leap forward, marking a strong increase in numbers with the Bel Paese, starting in 2004, doubling the number of visitors to the island and reaching fifth place in the international markets ranking in 2019,” the press note concludes.
