Si tratta di una Presidential Republic of Central America bordering to the North with Nicaragua, to the South East with Panama, to the North East is washed by the Caribbean Sea and to the West and South-West by the Pacific Ocean. Here the coast is rugged and interspersed with numerous peninsulas (the best place in all of Latin America for surfing), while the Caribbean coastline can boast 212 km of sandy beaches. The climate is typically tropical.

Ideal for nature lovers, Costa Rica ranks first in the New Economics Foundation ranking of the greenest and happiest countries in the world; to date, a biological wealth more unique than rare. A paradise on earth for birdwatching enthusiasts with its 850 bird species, human impact on the environment in this country is kept to a minimum. As much as 27% of the national territory consists of protected areas: absolutely not to be missed are the Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja and the Parque Nacional Corcovado, not forgetting the Isla del Coco, the largest national park island in the world.

Catholicism represents the dominant religion: Costa Ricans never fail to celebrate with colorful parades every festival present in the Christian calendar. To appreciate the traditions of such a joyful people, we recommend not to miss the picturesque Limón Carnival in October; also folkloric are the celebrations of the Independence Day from the Spanish, which took place on September 15, 1821. Currently Costa Rica can be called a peace ambassador in Central America: the only country without an army, it boasts political solidity based on democratic values that are really hard to find elsewhere.
