Andorra: things to know about the Pyrenean principality

The Principality of Andorra is the largest among the European microstates. Nestled in the Pyrenees mountains, this territory enjoys an alpine climate with fresh springs, hot but dry summers, and winter snowfall; it borders Spain to the south and west, and France to the north and east.

Andorra is a prosperous and thriving land, thanks to its tourist resources and status as a tax haven. Bank secrecy, very low consumption taxes, and duty-free sales are the key factors for attracting capital and investments.

The nature in Andorra invites many outdoor activities: hiking, horse riding, horseback walks, trips to natural parks. The territory is divided into seven communities, called parishes. At the head of Andorra is the co-principality, although now purely symbolic: the princes are the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell (Spain), although in practice, decisions are made by the Prime Minister and the Government.

Andorra is the only country in the world to have two princes who are simultaneously institutions in other states.
