“Il Museo Diocesano di Taranto was inaugurated on May 6, 2011. The Museum is located in the building that for more than four centuries was the seat of the Archiepiscopal Seminary. The Museum offers a visit path developed over three floors (36 exhibition rooms) and in seven thematic sections, hosting a collection of more than 300 works of art covering a time span from the 7th century to the 21st century. The Museum, owned by the Archdiocese of Taranto, is a permanent institution without profit, serving the community, open to the public, which guards, preserves, enhances, and promotes the study and knowledge of its collections and the cultural and religious heritage of the Archdiocese of Taranto.”
