BIT 2016 kicks off, new tourism trends in Milan

From 11 to 13 February the Milan Fair is preparing to host the BIT, the International Tourism Exchange which focuses on luxury and sport.

It reopens its doors there BIT, International Tourism Exchange on stage at fair Milano of Rho from Thursday, February 11th, until Saturday, February 13th. Space for new tourism trends, sector analyzes and new ones destinations.

The International Tourism Exchange (also known by the acronym BIT) presents various programs in the 2016 edition:

  • Buy World, with 1500 mostly international buyers (17% Italian and 83% foreign);
  • Free Matching, meetings between exhibitors and pre-registered operators;
  • Saturday Morning Speedy Meetings, for the first time in BIT, whose organization has been prepared by product category and macro geographical areas (Saturday morning, specific area);
  • VIP Travel Agencies Program, with around 1000 travel agencies and B2B meetings with The World operators.

At BIT 2016 there is no shortage of training opportunities, which are increasingly requested by the sector. The novelty of the year is "Contaminazioni" a container of "Business Integration". The training area is divided into 4 areas and focuses mainly on luxury and sports destination. In particular:

  • LeisureWorld;
  • Luxury World;
  • MICE World;
  • Destination Sports.

In the segment “Destination Sports” a new feature of the 2016 edition of the BIT is included, namely water sports: canyoning, rafting, canoeing, sailing, surfing, water skiing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and diving, all of which can be included in an "active holiday" intended for
athletes looking for excitement. There will be no shortage of outdoor disciplines (climbing, bouldering, trekking, running, mountain biking, cycle touring, road cycling, horse riding and golf).

Finally, on Saturday 13 February, "Run in Bit Fly in Thailand”. It is a 10 km Mini Marathon, from San Siro
at the gates of the Fair where the BIT is held. The initiative is carried out with the Thai National Tourism Board and Etihad Airways by virtue of the twinning with the Phuket marathon.

EXHIBITORS
every day from 11 to 13 February 2016 from 8.30 to 18.30.

VISITORS, PROFESSIONAL OPERATORS AND PRESS:
Every day from 11 to 13 February 2016 from 9.30 to 18.00.
Free entry for those who pre-register by February 10th, 12.00.
On Saturdays there will be a fee for access.

PUBLIC:
The traveling public can only access on Saturday 13 February 2016 from 9.30 to 18.00.
Purchase entrance card online: €5.
Purchase of entry card to the Fair: €7.
Access to the Luxury area is by invitation.
It will not be possible to pre-register for the event.

SCHOOLS
High school and university students can access the event only on Saturday 13 February 2016. The cost of the ticket is €7, if purchased directly at the dedicated reception (South Door Reception - Service Centre). Accompanying teachers (max 2 per class) enter free of charge. It is necessary to send, no later than 22 January 2016, the list of students with the names of the accompanying teachers on the institute's headed paper.
