Le Nuove prison museum, Turin
The historical-museum itinerary offers the discovery of the most hidden places where common men suffered for the affirmation of free and democratic Italy, from the Unification to the beginning of the Third Millennium.
The architectural structure presents the individual segregation of the cells, the panoptic system of the First Rotunda, the only memory of the cubicles used by the inmates in absolute silence. Mirror of society, it allows us to understand how one lives deprived of freedom in a cell.
Known criminal events are recalled, stories of fascists, the last capital execution in Italy, the anti-fascist struggles, the resistance in the infamous first German arm, the testimony of universal values in the cells of those condemned to death, terrorism with the barbaric killing of four agents.
Historical and civil heritage of humanity that should not be forgotten.
