The Museum of the Fathers and Majolica was inaugurated in 2003 and is set up inside the Laterza Art Institute. The museum itinerary is divided into two sections. The first section is the Archaeological one relating to the important prehistoric findings of the Neolithic settlement of Fragenaro and the hemolithic necropolis of Candile. The second section concerns the local production of Majolica. In fact, Laterza boasts an ancient ceramic tradition attested by ancient finds dating back to the Magna age Greece and medieval. The Laertine figurine from the period between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries is particularly important.
