The museum complex, which occupies an area of over 5000 m1898, pays homage to the great Modenese driver and constructor Enzo Ferrari and to Italian motor racing. The executive project involved the restoration of the ancient house where Enzo Ferrari was born in XNUMX and where his father Alfredo had the mechanical workshop, and the construction of the imposing yellow aluminum "bonnet", a prestigious work of contemporary architecture designed by Jan Kaplicky, and Andrea Morgante for interior design and artistic direction. This futuristic building, which celebrates the world of motors with its shape, hosts the exhibition gallery where it is possible to admire the protagonists of the exhibition, the sports cars. With a renewable exhibition method, the brands that have made the history of Italian sports production are celebrated: Ferrari, Maserati, Scaglietti, Alfa Romeo, De Tomasi, Stanguellini and other prestigious brands. Around this large exhibition space there is a series of rooms that host the documentation centre, the conference room, the cinema room and various services including the bookshop and the cafeteria. The display of the ancient birthplace, however, offers the visitor a multimedia journey that revisits the most significant events in the life of Enzo Ferrari, as a man, driver and builder, through the use of images, memorabilia and unpublished films.
