resorts that have obtained the &#8220;Hygiene Safety Certificate&#8221; to receive domestic tourism, with a maximum occupancy rate of 25%. The occupancy rate was increased to 50% on <strong>June 1, 2020<\/strong>. In collaboration with tourism chambers and international consulting firms specializing in hygiene, MoTA conducts periodic inspections of certified accommodation facilities to ensure effective implementation of the established standards.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"From_July_1_2020\"><\/span><strong>From July 1, 2020<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Egypt will receive inbound tourism in certified hotels and resorts located in coastal governorates (Red Sea, South Sinai, and Matrouh) with a maximum occupancy of 50%. These three governorates have had excellent epidemiological results and are equipped with hospitals (public and private). It is important to remember that travel between these three governorates and other governorates in Egypt is not permitted (until further notice).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Museums and archaeological sites, closed since March 23, 2020, will gradually reopen<\/strong>. The regulations for the resumption of tourism in Egypt mentioned in this document are subject to regular review and updates based on new developments.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_to_do_before_your_trip_to_Egypt\"><\/span><strong>What to do before your trip to Egypt<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pre-boarding\"><\/span><strong>Pre-boarding<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Travelers must have a completed &#8220;Traveler Declaration&#8221; form before receiving the boarding pass. It includes a questionnaire asking for information on: a) travels of a person in the 14 days prior to the visit to Egypt; b) confirmation that the traveler has shown no COVID-19 related symptoms in the 14 days prior to the trip; c) confirmation that the traveler has not knowingly been in contact with COVID-19 patients in the 14 days prior to the trip; d) traveler\u2019s declaration that they will inform hotel management or the doctor if they develop COVID-19 symptoms during their stay in Egypt; e) traveler\u2019s declaration that they possess valid international health insurance covering their stay in Egypt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The declaration forms are available through Egyptian tourism companies, their international counterparts, and at this link: <a href=\"http:\/\/egypt.travel\/media\/2364\/declaration_form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">http:\/\/egypt.travel\/media\/2364\/declaration_form.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Only travelers arriving from countries declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) to have a severe COVID-19 epidemic level are required to present a recent PCR test result (performed in their country of origin within 48 hours before travel) upon entry into Egypt; the list of such countries will be regularly updated and communicated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"On_board_Egyptian_airlines\"><\/span><strong>On board Egyptian airlines<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Aircraft are thoroughly disinfected before each flight.<\/li>\n<li>Wearing masks inside the aircraft (passengers and flight attendants) is mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>Only dry meals and canned beverages are served.<\/li>\n<li>Universal protective kits containing disinfectants, gloves, and masks are available (stocked with the crew).<\/li>\n<li>Distribution of printed publications (newspapers, magazines, etc.) is prohibited onboard.<\/li>\n<li>A specific area is assigned on the aircraft for passengers with chronic illnesses who are unable to wear masks for long periods.<\/li>\n<li>The last two rows of the aircraft are reserved for passengers showing symptoms of illness during the flight. An assigned flight attendant will attend to them, and a separate toilet will be provided for their use.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" issued by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in coordination with the Ministry of Health and Population and the relevant Tourism Chamber, and adhering to new established standards, are prerequisites for the operation of accommodation facilities.<\/li>\n<li>Regular monitoring of accommodation facilities will be conducted by joint committees between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the competent Tourism Chamber, and international consulting companies specializing in hygiene.<\/li>\n<li>Violating any of the established standards will result in license suspension of the facility.<\/li>\n<li>The manager responsible for hospitality will sign a declaration of responsibility regarding the established standards, and any violation will result in severe sanctions.<\/li>\n<li>Information about hygiene and safety standards will be made available to all guests and visitors of the facility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cleaning_and_disinfection\"><\/span><strong>Cleaning and disinfection<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular disinfection of all public areas and contact points is performed.<\/li>\n<li>Hand disinfectants are placed in all locations.<\/li>\n<li>Regular cleaning of furniture and fabrics in hotels and tourist facilities is carried out.<\/li>\n<li>Proper ventilation is maintained, respecting the requirements of the Ministry of Health and Population regarding centralized air conditioning.<\/li>\n<li>Safe waste disposal according to guidelines from the Ministry of Health and Population and the Ministry of Environment is required.<\/li>\n<li>Daily disinfection of laundry sinks is performed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Restrooms\"><\/span><strong>Restrooms<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular disinfection of restrooms and all contact points is carried out.<\/li>\n<li>Adequate ventilation is maintained.<\/li>\n<li>Disinfectants and liquid soap are constantly available.<\/li>\n<li>Only paper towels are provided.<\/li>\n<li>Foot-pedal trash bins are used exclusively.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Elevators\"><\/span><strong>Elevators<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Social distancing inside elevators is maintained with floor markings.<\/li>\n<li>Elevator staff and guests must wear masks inside the elevator.<\/li>\n<li>Regular disinfection of elevators and all contact points inside is performed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" facilities, archaeological sites, and museums<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilities operate with a maximum of 50% of their total workforce (until further notice).<\/li>\n<li>Staff members in coastal governorates are quarantined after returning from leave, with at least a 60-day interval between departures.<\/li>\n<li>Staff temperatures are checked daily.<\/li>\n<li>Separate accommodations are provided for hotel staff, considering social distancing and providing isolation areas for suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases among staff (only mild cases).<\/li>\n<li>Staff with contagious or chronic illnesses should not be employed.<\/li>\n<li>Staff are trained and educated about COVID-19 symptoms and preventive measures.<\/li>\n<li>Hotel management must be immediately informed if any staff or guests exhibit COVID-19 symptoms.<\/li>\n<li>Staff are equipped with personal protective equipment (including disinfectants, masks,
