Divided into the provinces of Torino, Alessandria, Asti, Biella, Cuneo, Novara, Verbania and Vercelli, the geographical conformation of the region has enhanced certain activities to be practiced in Piemonte: to the north and west there are the Western Alps which, towards the south, join theLigurian Apennines.
