The application, born from the collaboration between International Chamber of Commerce, International SOS and SGS, was the first “travel pass” digital used by a national immigration authority to verify the Covid-19 status of arriving travellers, on a flight from Japan a Singapore in December 2020.

The system is now also active in Italy and will allow passengers heading to New York su flights Alitalia Covid-Tested to present upon boarding a digital certificate of negativity from a rapid antigen Covid-19 test, increasing passenger safety and saving time during travel procedures.

The digitalisation of this process – in collaboration with the USMAF doctors of the Italian Ministry of Health – is a further step forward in the creation of new protocols for safe access to aircraft, a procedure started in September 2020, in partnership with the Region Lazio, With flights Alitalia Rome-Milan Covid-Tested and continued in December with the opening of the flights “quarantine free” give it United States.

As an alternative to the self-isolation system, which is difficult to control and penalizes healthy people, in the coming months passengers will increasingly be subjected to rapid or molecular tests before boarding, especially for destinations long range. As vaccinations progress, there may soon also be the possibility of showing a vaccination certificate to be able to board safely, without incurring limitations. The digitalisation of these processes starts today with the use of the ICC AOKpass and will be further developed through a series of healthcare services and authorized travel cards.
