  1. There are no longer trains connecting Piacenza to Monterosso al Mare via Borgotaro. On the outward journey you have to pass through Voghera and on the return journey it takes 4 hours via Milan. I have no words, really nice service. Giovanna Abelli If you can explain to me the reason…

    • Hi Giovanna, I'm sorry for the inconvenience you encountered with the train connections between Piacenza and Monterosso al Mare. Unfortunately, changes in public transport services can be due to various factors, such as changes in train timetables or changes in routes. I recommend that you contact railway customer service directly to obtain more information on the reasons for these changes. I hope you can find a solution that best suits your travel needs.

  2. I had to make more than one unsuccessful attempt, only to then realize that it was not possible to have a ticket for a future trip, on 31 July, as it falls within the summer railway timetable which is not yet in force. But then rather than misleading messages that make you feel guilty, like try entering the arrival and departure stations again or other nonsense (unlock the arrows), it's better to say your trip is not currently available, try again another time (when) and you will be luckier.

    • Thank you for your detailed feedback. We are sorry for the negative experience you had trying to book your trip for July 31st. We hope you are able to book your trip successfully on your next try.

  3. I learned from a family member that the direct Taranto/Rome connections via PZ, with IC 700/702 and FR 9514, will be canceled from 11 June next, coinciding with the new summer timetable. Considering such a thing impossible, I simulated, using the appropriate app, the purchase of a ticket for the 12/6 day and for the aforementioned route. In fact I did not find solutions with a direct connection to the capital but only connections with multiple changes, confirming that the news I was given was not a far-fetched one. At this point I ask Tranitalia/RFI how they reconcile these suppressions with the announcements of modernization of the Taranto/Battipaglia route, and whether they believe it is right that a city like Taranto should benefit from rail connections from remote locations on the edge of the empire

    • Thank you for your comment and for sharing your concern regarding the cancellation of direct Taranto/Rome connections via Potenza starting from 11 June. It's understandable that you're disappointed by the lack of straightforward solutions and the need to make multiple changes during your trip.

Unfortunately, decisions regarding train services and timetable changes are managed by Trenitalia/RFI based on various factors, including passenger demand, availability of resources and maintenance and upgrade needs of the railway lines. However, we understand your concern regarding the importance of rail connections.
